Violet
Inspired by the potted flowers on my office windowsill, I am painting my toenails purple. And, I am a dork.

It's Finally Spring In Molsta
Today was Molsta's compulsory spring cleaning day but since Sarianne was sick it was just us and Mama and Papa Swede. It was a fabulous day and we got a lot done, despite our lower-than-expected head count. We were so efficient, I fact, that we actually spent much of the day playing football, grilling, and just sitting around and enjoying the gorgeous day.

This Justin
Tonight The Swede has taken Elin to the Justin Bieber concert, the biggest entertainment event, like, EVER to hit Swedish soil. If you're a a tween or The Swede, anyway. I, meanwhile, am on standby with a towel while Jambo practices his filling and pouring, filling and pouring, filling and pouring. And I don't mind.

This Weekend
After a glamorous afternoon in the city on Friday...
...and a fun evening with family and friends on Saturday, this wonderful weekend continued with......more fun with Erin! She and Ossian met us in the city today and we had lunch, spent some time at a play land, and walked the streets of Kungsholmen, enjoying the sun with our little men.

Lots And Lots
Blogger is not letting me upload pictures right now, but hopefully it will be cooperating tomorrow so that I can show you the wonderful weekend we're having. I had the afternoon off yesterday and met Erin for lunch in the city, followed by some solo window shopping, we had a truly delicious dinner at Mama and Papa Swede's last night, cleaned up the 'hood with our neighbors this morning, got the yard and porch summer-ready, took a long afternoon nap, and spent the evening with family and friends at a birthday party. And there's still one day of the weekend left! YES!

My Birthday Boy
I have so many wonderful people in my family. Some people came with the package, some were added when I got married, and, of course, there's the one that I made. I'm particularly proud that The Swede is my family because, unlike all the others, I chose him. And I think that speaks pretty highly of my taste. Today is his birthday and in between the wake-up singing and present, the surprise birthday cake afternoon snack, and the dinner out, I've been celebrating, alone on the inside, the fact that he exists and that he is mine.

Jolly Green Papa
Last weekend at the cabin we were making tacos and Jamie pointed to the corn can and exclaimed, "Papa!" We all got a chuckle that he mistook the Jolly Green Giant for The Swede. Then, today, at the grocery store he yelled out "Papa!!!" in the middle of the place. I felt bad because his papa usually picks him up from school in the afternoon, but I did today and Jamie was obviously disappointed. I started to tell him that he would see Papa later but then he shouted it again and pointed. And now, looking a bit closer, there is a bit of a resemblance. The jolliness. The boyish tousled hair. The broad shoulders. Overlook the leafy toga and emerald complexion and that toddler is really onto something.

Correspondence From Afar
We got surprise in the mail today from my niece Alana! It was an adorable card with a really sweet message on the inside letting us know that she misses us and hopes to see us soon and would love to explore Sweden. My brother and his wife Breezey and their two kids live in Reno, Nevada and we haven't seen them in years. Thankfully there's Facebook and the occasional Skype so that I can see how they're changing and all that they're accomplishing. Mom gave me reports of Alana's writing gift after her visit to Reno earlier this year, so I was especially happy to get to experience it for myself today. We miss you and love you, Kris, Breezey, Aron and Alana!!!

Desperado
Jamie is a big animal lover and among his favorites is the horse, or "häthten" as he calls it. We visited the stalls nearby a few weeks ago and found out that they offer pony rides every other Sunday so the first chance we got we hopped on, so to speak. Jamie was cool as a cucumber, some may say apathetic, but I like to think he was showing respect for the beast with his calmness. At any rate, I had a fantastic time.

By The Fire
We're at Molsta this weekend, Jamie has just fallen asleep, and we're watching Let's Dance in front of a roaring fire while the rain outside melts the rest of the snow. Doesn't get cozier.

As If Summer Wasn't Taking Long Enough
My new shoes from Zara came today. I think we can all agree that they're the most magnificent sandals to grace, certainly my feet, and some may even say planet Earth. The only question, though, is how inappropriate is it really to wear sandals when there's still snow in the shade?

Some Time With My Son
It was AIK's premier match at the new arena so The Swede and his papa went to that yesterday while Jamie and his mama spent the afternoon together.
We shared a plate of kebab and french fries at the mall then headed to the toy store where Jamie played for over an hour. We somehow managed to walk out with only a plastic horse. A success for this mom, a failure for the store.
When we left the mall it was snowing but we were near the lakes in our old neighborhood and had packed some old cereal and bread in the back of the car so we decided to go visit the ducks anyway. Aside from a bit of drama vis-á-vis birds walking on water while kids cannot, it was hilarious. We finished off our outing with a fika and some puddle jumping and me loving him so, so, so much.
